Promoting gender equality in the workplace
Maison Johanès Boubée believes that diversity in the workplace is a source of social balance and economic performance. To this end and for several years now, the company has committed to promoting real workplace equality between men and women, especially in terms of:
- Recruitment
- Training
- Career advancement
- Working conditions and work-life balance
- Compensation
Gender equality index
The gender equality index created in November 2018 allows companies to measure their progress in terms of the pay gap between women and men at equal positions and ages.
The company must achieve a minimum level of 75 points. Otherwise, it will have to put in place corrective measures within three years or pay penalties of up to 1% of payroll.
Results
The Index is rated out of 100 points. It is calculated from five indicators for companies with more than 250 employees

Developing innovative recruitment methods
Maison Johanès Boubée has adopted a recruitment approach which gives every candidate an equal chance, no matter what their profile.
In partnership with Pôle Emploi, the French unemployment office, Maison Johanès Boubée regularly employs a Recruitment Method by Simulation to recruit order pickers. Instead of being based on a CV and work experience, this method opens recruitment to a wider pool (men, women, disabled workers, seniors, etc.), enabling them to access a job for which they have a natural aptitude and receive specific training.
